An ancient rock city with over 7,000 years of history.
It began as a prehistoric sanctuary and later grew into a major Thracian religious center.
This is believed to be the site of the temple of the god Dionysus, where priests once delivered prophecies.
Through the Roman and medieval eras, Perperikon flourished as a fortress and a city, but after the Ottoman invasion it was abandoned.
Today it is one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Bulgaria.
The most powerful moment came when I reached the highest point. The view… there’s simply no way to fully describe it.
