My trip to Shiroka Laka felt like stepping back in time.
The moment I entered the village, I was captivated by the beauty of the Rhodopes. The tall pines, the clean air and the calm all around made me forget the noise of the city. Everything felt so real and unspoiled.
As I wandered the narrow cobblestone streets, I admired the old Rhodope houses with their wide verandas and stone roofs. They keep the memory of the past alive and make Shiroka Laka one of the most beautiful villages in Bulgaria.
It’s no accident that it has been declared an architectural and folklore reserve.
